Studio Hire
Mayfield is available for selected creative hire, independent teaching, workshops, photoshoots and small gatherings.
The studio is best suited to people who bring their own students, clients or creative community and need a beautiful, practical space to work from.
Spaces available
Front Studio
A light-filled ceramics studio with pottery wheels, high ceilings, textured work surfaces and the atmosphere of a working creative space. Best suited to wheel throwing instruction, photography, filming, brand shoots and hands-on creative workshops.
Technical Area
An enclosed wet and messy work area with benches, shelving, tools and a sink with clay trap. Best suited to clay preparation, glazing, hand-building, surface work, technical demonstrations and small messy workshops.
Mezzanine
Once complete, the mezzanine will offer an atmospheric upstairs space within the studio, with skylights, ventilation, a balcony and room for up to 24 people seated at tables. Best suited to creative classes, talks, writing groups, craft gatherings, planning sessions and community events.
Independent teaching
Facilitators and teachers are welcome to enquire about running their own classes at Mayfield. You bring your students and teaching plan; we provide the agreed space, atmosphere and studio facilities.
Hirers must be experienced enough to supervise their group safely and are responsible for their own participants, materials, setup, pack-down and clean-up unless otherwise arranged.
Availability
The mezzanine and technical area are available at flexible times. Hire of the front wheel throwing studio is limited to selected quieter periods so that member access is protected.
Rates
$50 per hour
Minimum booking: $150, which includes up to 3 hours.
Hire includes use of the agreed space and standard studio facilities. Additional charges may apply where specialist equipment, materials, clay, firing or extended setup and pack-down time are required.
External teachers and facilitators are welcome. Depending on the activity, hirers should take care of their own insurance obligations and any relevant licences, qualifications or checks.
